To Add, Remove, or Create a Beneficiary
- Select the Benefits worklet on your Workday homepage
- Select Benefits under the Change heading
- Select Beneficiary Change
- Enter Benefit Event Date
- Click the orange Submit button at the bottom left of the page
- Select Open
- Click the orange Submit button to move forward to the Beneficiary Designations page
- On the Beneficiary Designations page select the plus (+) sign to the left of the Beneficiary column to add a beneficiary or trust
- In the drop down box select the three gray lines in the right of the box
- Select Beneficiary Persons or Trusts to choose a contact that is already in Workday, or skip to step 2 in the section below to create a new beneficiary
- Select the appropriate name
- Select Primary Percentage or Contingent Percentage in the box to the right of the name
- Enter a Percentage in the box that you selected (beneficiary percentages must total 100% for primary and 100% for contingent)
- Repeat these steps as necessary to add all existing beneficiaries to each individual account
- To remove an existing beneficiary select the minus (-) sign to the left of the name and make any necessary updates to primary or contingent percentages
To Create a New Beneficiary
- Follow steps 1-9 in the instructions listed above
- Select Create from the drop down box
- Select Add Beneficiary or Add Trust
- Enter the required information as indicated by the red asterisks
- If creating a beneficiary you will need to enter required information under the legal name and contact information tabs (a legal name and address are required)
- Select Primary Percentage or Contingent Percentage in the box to the right of the name
- Enter a Percentage in the box that you selected (beneficiary percentages must total 100% for primary and 100% for contingent)
- Select the Continue bottom at the bottom of the screen
- Check the I Agree box
- Select Submit
